Apple Releases iTunes 12.6.3 With App Store In Tow

Apple Releases Version Of iTunes That Has An App Store

Futuremark made a decision to test out whether of not newer version of Apple's iOS ended up slowing down older devices.

With the new Apple iOS 11 update in September there came new enhancements for your iPhone and iPad and newly updated apps appearing almost every day. According to the company, there are hundreds of new characters to choose from. Some rumors have even suggested that Apple may do this on goal to encourage you to buy a newer device, this is not the case.

Across the iPhone series, from the 5s to 7 Plus, Apple has maintained a consistent level of speed even after new iOS updates, Futuremark's test that measured the performance of internal processors showed.

There have been rumors for some time that newer versions of Apple's iOS end up making some older iPhone slow.

The first iPhone used for the test was the iPhone 5s, the oldest device to run iOS 11. For instance, GPU performance was up compared to the previous-generation versions of iOS for the iPhone 6 and 7.

Based on the feedback from certain business partners who might still need to use iTunes to install apps, Apple has now released an older version of iTunes separately. Attributing the performance to "minor iOS updates or other factors", the company said that such a marginal difference in performance is unlikely to be noticed by users in everyday use.

That's because as smartphones get more powerful and more capable with each new release, apps and services are also updated.

According to data from more than 100,000 devices running iOS, Apple's system updates do not cause phones to slow down.

There is an easy fix: if you are unable to open the News-Journal e-Edition app on your device, simply delete the app.
