We Did Everything - Mauricio Pochettino Disappointed As Tottenham Held To Swansea Draw

Mauricio Pochettino Manager of Tottenham Hotspur look on prior to the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Swansea City at Wembley Stadium

This match pits the team with the most shots this season (Spurs, 79), versus the team to have attempted the fewest (Swansea, 26).

The Englishman was also absent for Tottenham's excellent 3-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in midweek, with the temperamental attacker suspended for the first three games of Spurs' Champions League campaign.

Mauricio Pochettino has long since exhausted of questions about Spurs' domestic setup but had to go through it all again and could not dispel the suspicion that all the talk risks becoming self-fulfilling.

However, Tottenham have been in good form on the road in the Premier League, picking up wins at Newcastle United and Everton. "What can we do? It will help us to get our confidence and trust of playing there at Wembley, to help us feel that it is our home", Pochettino said Friday afternoon. I will repeat always the same every single press conference: we need to move on.

It's nearly as if Pochettino couldn't care less about your Fantasy team.

After two tough games, Pochettino chose to switch up his side, with Moussa Sissoko starting in midfield, whilst Son Heung-min was surprisingly deployed as a wing back to open the game.

Dele Alli is set to return to the starting eleven after missing the Dortmund game through suspension while Kieran Trippier could be recalled at right-back with Serge Aurier unlucky to drop out. Son tries a speculative effort from Alli's cross but Fabianski does well to make the save.

They emerged for the second half with brisker pace and a more cogent shape. The introduction of Fernando Llorente, making his league debut against the club that sold him, promised a storyline but served only to detract nearly instantly from their cohesion.

In any case, we hope Llorente enjoys his project of getting paid to watch Harry Kane score lots of goals.

The England Under-21 global had looked to have made a complete recovery and has featured off the bench three times this season, but Pochettino says there are still lingering concerns.

Renato Sanches had made a sluggish start but his quick feet saw Tammy Abraham shake-off the advances of Davidson Sanchez where Moussa Sissoko blocked Tom Carroll's route to goal.

The home side were becoming more and more desperate in their search with Fernando Llorente introduced by Tottenham, just weeks after joining from the visitors.

"Good defending has to be applauded", Swansea manager Paul Clement said. Still he feels a little bit of pain in his ankle.
