Oklahoma State's Rudolph shows National Football League form in rout of Pitt

Pittsburgh Penn St Football

The Oklahoma State Cowboys travelled Northeast to take on the Pittsburgh Panthers in Heinz Field. Washington's 29 receiving touchdowns are the most among active players in the FBS.

Combined with his performance over the first two weeks of the season, in which Oklahoma State blew out Tulsa 59-24 and followed with a 44-7 win on the road against South Alabama, Rudolph completed 72.2 percent of his passes for 1,061 yards and 11 touchdowns without an interception through the first 10 quarters of play of his senior season.

"They all did their job", Rudolph said. He did throw his first interception of the season, ending a streak of 216 consecutive passes without a pick dating back to last season. "He got out of his box one time, and when he did, he made an interception".

Oklahoma State had four 100-yard receivers on the day - Jalen McCleskey (seven receptions for 162 yards and three touchdowns), James Washington (five for 124), Marcell Ateman (four for 109 and a score) and Dillon Stoner (5, 100, 1) - the first time that has happened in major college football in 12 years. It was the first touchdown catch of the Jenks' star's college career. Washington had three catches for 68 yards.

OSU is facing the Panthers without two starters, as cornerback Madre Harper and receiver Tyron Johnson did not make the trip.

Before the first quarter was up, Rudolph already threw two touchdowns and the Cowboys led by 21 points. Pitt challenged him early in this regard, however, with Rudolph barely escaping a first-quarter safety by extending the ball out of the end zone on a sack.

When Rudolph hit McCleskey over the middle for a 48-yard touchdown pass with 3:40 left in the second quarter, Oklahoma State was up by 42 and a large portion of the home crowd was on its way to the exit despite an enticement from Pitt officials for students to stay.
