Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits their defending wasn't good enough for their 1-1 draw with Burnley.

The hosts were quick out of the blocks but had only half-chances from Daniel Sturridge and Trent Alexander-Arnold to show for it after 20 minutes.

Liverpool dominated possession early and often, cutting off Burnley passes at ease and pushing their opponents back.

"It is not that we ignore it - I said if there would have been a solution out there we would have done it". After throwing away a 2-1 lead against Sevilla mid-week, Jurgen Klopp would have hoped to convert the Burnley fixture into a stright-forward win to rake in three crucial points.

Klopp made seven changes from the frustrating mid-week draw with Sevilla, and having received a warm reception from the Anfield crowd as a substitute that night, Philippe Coutinho made his first start since attempting to force through a move to Barcelona. "We were dominant, fantastic attitude".

DF Ragnar Klavan, 5 - Largely at fault for the Burnley goal as he challenged for a ball that Matip was going for, and when neither of them got it Anfield was left all alone in the space he vacated.

"Raggy was there and the ball bounced in the wrong direction and Robbo he knows he could see Arfield quicker". A good goal for them. "We could have won pretty much all our games so far when you think about the performance".

Liverpool's frailty in defense was exposed once more as Arfield finished calmly from the edge of the box in the 27th minute after the Reds twice failed to clear a long ball.

The 31-year-old was taken off in the 36th minute after being treated on the pitch for several minutes.

Sean Dyche's side nearly claimed all three points as they managed to gain some territory late on, with Ben Mee seeing powerful headers from consecutive corners cleared off the line in the final 10 minutes, first by Matip, then goalkeeper Simon Mignolet.

Adam Lallana (thigh), Nathaniel Clyne (back), Danny Ings (knee), and Sadio Mane (suspended) are the list of Liverpool absentees on today's match.

"They made seven changes today for players who they brought in for absolute fortunes". The German has come under the gun for not drafting in defensive reinforcements this summer, but for all the deflecting, he's right in stressing that one player isn't going to fix our problems.

"We'll speak to him accordingly", Dyche said of Lindegaard.
