Car plows into crowd at Boise Spectrum, at least 11 injured

On Saturday, a group of automotive enthusiasts hosted this season's, but final "Cars and Coffee" event.

The driver of a Porsche Boxster Spyder injured numerous bystanders after losing control of his auto while doing a burnout near the Boise Spectrum Saturday morning.

Just before 10:51 a.m. Saturday, police say a gray Porsche leaving a parking lot near Overland and Entertainment ran into several pedestrians on the sidewalk.

"As a result of collision of a auto into a crowd during a vehicle show on the street overland 11 people were injured".

According to information from Chief William L. Bones, Boise Police Department, the call came in at 10:51 a.m., and officers responded to the area of West Overland Road and Entertainment Avenue, where a auto show, Cars and Coffee, was being held.

Police Lieutenant Charles lebar, Singapore, in turn, said that the incident could be due to the fact that the driver made a decision to "show off" in front of an audience. Amid screams from bystanders, people can be seen attending those injured as some followed the driver as he walked away from the scene.

Six people were transported to the hospital by ambulance, and five went in private vehicles. The victims sustained serious but not critical injuries, said Boise Police Lt. Charles LeBar, according to the Idaho Statesman. The man was left unhurt and is now cooperating with the investigation. Police will forward information to the Ada County Prosecuting Attorney's Office when the investigation is completed.
