You Should Definitely Try to See the Perseid Meteor Shower Tonight

Look up: Irish people will see shooting stars tonight
Light pollution from the cities will also make it hard to see the meteors tonight. Some meteor showers are slow, but we are moving into the Perseid stream so they are coming at us quite swiftly. It's also when the Earth will be the most within the stream of Swift-Tuttle.
The comet last passed by Earth in 1992 and will swing by again in 2126.
Because the density of the dust cloud varies, the meteors will not be evenly spaced out.
The Perseid Meteor Shower has been going on since July 17, but it will peak tonight.
Peak viewing will be Friday night, early Saturday, Saturday night and early Sunday.
But you don't have to me a club member to watch the meteors at the park. The best time to look up will be after midnight - aka early in the morning of August 13 - when the sky will be darkest. The meteors will originate in the northeastern sky near the constellation Perseus (thus their name). "It can take your eyes as long as 20 to 30 minutes to fully adapt to darkness after being in a normally lit room".
The annual Perseids is predicted to be one of the most spectacular shows of the year - but don't worry if you're missing out tonight, the display is expected to dazzle the skies for a whole week.
The Perseids usually have a flare rate of about 80-100 per hour at 60 km per second speed, but this year flare rates are reduced by half owing to the bright moon, he added.
The Perseid meteors, shed by comet Swift-Tuttle, stage their show every August and are among the brightest of all shooting stars.
The greatest meteor shower in USA history occurred with the Leonids on November 12, 1833, with 20 to 30 meteors reported per second.
