Stop the 'war of rhetoric', Corbyn tells Trump and Kim

Britain, America's top European ally, could formally refuse Donald Trump's call for help in waging war against North Korea, so long as Kim Jong-un does not strike Hawaii or the U.S. mainland.

In an unusual move, a statement threatening possible military action against the US was then carried on August 8 in North Korea's Rodong Sinmum newspaper and was delivered that same day by military helicopters to Chagang province, a source in the province bordering China told RFA's Korean Service.

"Wealthy people and people who live in the cities are more anxious than others about Kim Jong Un's nuclear provocations", the source said.

The U.S. military is "locked and loaded, should North Korea act unwisely", Trump warned Pyongyang in return.

North Korea has announced a detailed plan to launch a salvo of ballistic missiles toward the US Pacific territory of Guam, a major military hub and home to US bombers. "Hopefully Kim Jong Un will find another path".

The United Kingdom is working together with the United States and other partners on diplomatic solution to the North Korean crisis, UK Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson said Saturday.

Asked about President Trump's latest statements, Ms Merkel declined to say whether Germany would stand with the USA in case of a military conflict with North Korea.

"I know people say the rhetoric wasn't stopping the advancement of their weapons, but we're tracking it and we have the technology to intercept", McCaskill said Friday.

Ms Merkel called on the UN Security Council to continue to address the issue.

"We are working with the United States and our partners in the region to bring this crisis to a diplomatic end".

"We can not play fast and loose with nuclear weapons and nuclear threats".

The Labour leader, a long time anti-war campaigner, said the result of a nuclear strike would go on for decades, adding: "I ask them both, calm down".

We should challenge Kim to present a new face to the world and offer to come in and provide whatever assistance they need to make the whole thing a success.
