Sen. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., said President Donald Trump had elevated North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un as a "world stage player" in his statements over their nuclear weapons program, The Hill reported Saturday.

And just days before that, the president promised to unleash "fire and fury" on the tin-pot country, should dictator Kim Jong Un continue to make unwelcome advances against the United States.

"It's tailor-made for somebody to misuse", he added.

"I learned one thing about bullies: Unless you stand up to them, even if they're bigger than you, they're going to crush you", Savage told his listeners.

Kim Jong Un thinks "the nuclear weapons will prevent US from getting involved", Sun said.

Trump continued to ramp up the rhetoric with a post on Twitter this morning indicating that the U.S.is prepared to take military action against North Korea.

"We consider the U.S.no more than a lump which we can beat to a jelly any time", the Korean Central News Agency said, quoting Institute of International Studies researcher Kang Kum Chol.

Savage pointed to a Business Insider report citing an expert on North Korea and China who says Pyongyang's development of nuclear weapons is "aimed at the eventual reunification of the Korean peninsula".

Things are quickly heating up between the USA and North Korea, and there are no signs it will slow down after the Pentagon said Friday the military stands ready to "fight tonight", if necessary.

Washington and Pyongyang have been engaged in an escalating war of words since Wednesday when Trump warned of "fire and fury like the world has never seen" if the North continues escalating its nuclear threat.
