FICA awaiting PCB's response on security details for World XI tour

New Pakistan boss targets return of international action

Also, the players in English country, including pacer Mohammad Amir, Pakistan skipper Sarfraz Ahmed, prolific batsman Fakhar Zaman, have received recall notices from the cricket board to end commitments with their respective franchises.

The board had originally given as many as 10 players, including seven centrally contracted cricketers, permission to play the entire Caribbean Premier League - which began on August 4 and runs until September 9.

Pakistan cricketers, now involved in Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2017 and English domestic season, have been asked to cut short their participation in the wake of late finalisation and rescheduling of the upcoming ICC World XI series.

"They are being recalled owing to the changes in schedule of the World-XI tour to Pakistan", it read.

PCB has found itself in a fix with the World XI's visit earlier scheduled for late September, but due to the by-elections in NA-120 on September 17 due to the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif, the dates had to be moved to earlier September.

Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka have earned an automatic qualification. The matches are expected to be held in Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.

Given the tense political climate between India and Pakistan, PCB chairman Najam Sethi, who also heads the ACC, tabled a resolution to get it shifted.

Former Pakistan captain Javed Miandad has asked the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) not to bother about playing bilateral series with arch-rivals India and instead focus on improving domestic cricket.

"The series has been brought forward to mid-September because the Punjab government wants it to be held before the NA120 election on September 17".
