A total solar eclipse occurs when the dark silhouette of the Moon completely obscures the intensely bright light of the Sun, allowing the much fainter solar corona to be visible.

The coming solar eclipse is termed the Great American Eclipse and will place parts of the United States in utter darkness on August 21.

NASA scientists confirmed the existence of the ninth planet, which conspiracy theorists have long given the name Nibiru or planet X.

Amateur stargazer and Christian numerologist David Meade has been making headlines today after speaking with the Daily Star Online about some eerie predictions.

They identified the magical planet as "Nibiru", cautioning that it is a few days away from crashing the world.

According to media reports, Meade and other conspiracy theorists don't have evidence to keep their theory erect, but are leaning on passages from The Bible to support their theory. Moreover, the conspiracy theorist also has assumed that the upcoming solar eclipse, which will take place 21st of this month will mark the onset of this catastrophe.

No, the August 21 solar eclipse doesn't mean the world is coming to an end.

David Meade, the author of "Planet X - The 2017 Arrival", has claimed that Nibiru, a planet also known as Planet X, will hit the Earth on September 23, 2017.

Mr Meade said it was written in the Old Testament book of Isaiah, Chapter 13, verses nine to 10, which state: "See, the Day of the LORD is coming - a cruel day, with wrath and fierce anger - to make the land desolate and destroy the sinners within it". The Stars of Heaven and their constellations will stop showing their light.

Meade added: "The Moon involved is called a black moon".

That date is September 23, 2017, he says.

As a scientific phenomenon, "eclipses are not intriguing at all", says cosmologist Dejan Stojkovic, Ph.D., a professor of physics in the University at Buffalo College of Arts and Sciences.

"This indeed is an wonderful omen and a frightful sign", according to Meade. Michael Parker, who runs blog End of Time Prophecies, said the eclipse would signal the Second Coming of Christ before the Rapture.

So why all the hype about the eclipse coming up on August 21?

NASA already told the world back in 2012 that "Nibiru and other stories about wayward planets are an Internet hoax", but here we are again.

Paul Begley, a pastor at the Community Gospel Baptist Church in Knox, Ind., maintains a YouTube channel with more than 190,000 subscribers.

The stories of Nibiru causing apocalypse has been mostly brushed aside as a mythical, fascinating story. Dan McGlaun, who runs the website Eclipse2017.org, wrote: "Total eclipses are so phenomenal and so overpowering and so awesome that some people have ascribed a "super spirituality" to them".

End of World in 2012? So far, none of them have been right.
