There's an official Fallout board game coming and it looks fantastic

Those games (and their expansions) have offered an opportunity to dive into a bleak future filled with unusual characters and almost constant conflict and exploration - a recipe that also happens to be an ideal fit for great adventure board games. Players choose one of five explorers that range from "a savvy Wastelander to a stout member of the Brotherhood of Steel".
Almost two years after Fallout 4 came out, it's getting a Game of the Year edition.
Inspired by both Fallout 3 and Fallout 4, Fantasy Flight Games - the company responsible for Star Wars miniatures games, distributors for Android: Netrunner, Elder Sign and Mansions of Madness - announced that the Fallout board game would be a cooperative affair for up to 4 players. Instead, they are making a board game, a retro decision for a game series that comes with a quasi-retro sheen.
A game for between one and four players, it includes four scenarios the play through. Throughout the game, encounters and quest cards offer choices about how to confront a situation.
The game, however, is based on scenarios and given it's a Fantasy Flight game there likely will be many expansions on the way.
By exploring these regions and completing missions in the main storyline or side quests, your character will grow using a simplified SPECIAL system and competing factions (like the Railroad and the Institute) will advance their agendas. Quest dialogue and cards are often awash in amusing nods to the familiar weapons and equipment from the series (like the devastating Fat Man weapon), or memorable ally characters like Codsworth the robotic butler. So you should be covered as far as additional content goes.
Game of the Year Edition won't be releasing on its own, however.
