He joins as a free agent following his release by Sunderland at the end of last campaign.

The Sweden global would bring Leonid Slutsky's team a wealth of invaluable experience, with Hull looking to return back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

The Swedish football outlet say Larsson is now likely to sign for Hull City after spending his entire career playing in England.

The 32-year-old will now line up against Sunderland in the Championship this season after becoming the Tigers' sixth summer signing.

Hull City began life back in the Championship with a 1-1 draw away at promotion hopefuls Aston Villa on Saturday.

The midfielder, who has made more than 500 appearances in England due to stints at Arsenal, Birmingham City and Sunderland, will wear the number 16 shirt at Hull.

They lost a lot of that last season when Robert Snodgrass left the club in January, and with Kamil Grosicki's future also uncertain, Larsson is exactly the sort of man to take over the mantle.
