Daughter's body found after Florida mom crashes in West Virginia, police say

Authorities in West Virginia say they discovered the body of an 11-year-old girl after her mother crashed her auto while driving to Buffalo. Further charges may be applied.

The mother is alleged to have then told police that she had killed her daughter and had been abusive towards her.

Police say Newsome told them she was headed to Buffalo, where she formerly lived and where her daughter's father now is located.

"Newsome stated that she had picked her daughter up from her bed and put her in her truck on Friday, August 4, and she did not move, eat, drink, speak or use the restroom for two days - the time span of the drive from Jacksonville, Florida to the scene of the accident", according to the Pocahontas Times. She remained still for the entire 700 miles.

Plummer said he was shocked to hear that his daughter had been killed. It would have been a surprise visit for Plummer, who hadn't seen his daughter in years. According to the Pocahontas Times, Newsome has already admitted to abusing and killing her daughter (but death by accident via guard rail).

The body of an 11-year-old girl was found inside the vehicle but it doesn't appear she died from injuries sustained in the crash. There is no confirmation on a cause of death, but foul play is suspected and more arrests could be forthcoming in Florida.

The victim's father, Donath Plummer, said that Newsome texted him on Saturday night, telling him that she'd be driving up to Buffalo with their daughter.

Plummer and Newsome had been separated since 2014, and he said that they didn't have a solid relationship, but they kept in contact.
