Wayne Rooney wants Ross Barkley stay at Everton amid Tottenham speculation

Spurs have widely reported as suitors for Barkley recently and it appears a move could be back on the cards.

Tottenham remain the only Premier League side not to sign a single player in the summer transfer window so far.

It is believed that Everton will compromise a deal "in the coming weeks" with Spurs after already signing attacking midfielder Davy Klaassen from Ajax. However, the 23-year-old is still continuing his development and they should trust the judgement of their manager Pochettino.

The England worldwide has a year left on his current deal and boss Ronald Koeman's pleas for the gifted midfielder to sign a new deal seem to have fallen on deaf ears. "He can help us get better".

According to The Mirror, they seemingly want Barkley to be their key addition, but they're nowhere near the £50m valuation set by the Toffees.

Tottenham would like to close the deal before this coming Wednesday, when they fly to the United States of America for their pre-season tour.

Which could also delay the Ross Barkley to Tottenham transfer.

Everton forward Wayne Rooney wants Ross Barkley to stay at the club, something he says is "what's right".

Tottenham are reportedly pushing to secure the signing of Ross Barkley before they depart for their pre-season tour this week, but there's still a gap to be bridged.

Swansea are holding out for 50 million pounds to sell Gylfi, who left White Hart Lane just before Mauricio Pochettino arrived.
