United Kingdom determined to make North Korea see sense on nuclear weapons

China defends imports of North Korean iron ore
China has strongly supported Russia's expanded involvement in the Korean peninsula, as many Chinese policymakers are increasingly frustrated with the burdens of supporting a North Korean regime that has publicly criticized Beijing's intentions.
The Trump administration, however, has also made efforts to involve Russian Federation in the search for a solution.
Even though South Korea has continued to participate in USA -led military drills, a recent statement from Moon Chung-in, a major adviser to the South Korean presidential administration, calling for downsized military exercises has captured the attention of Russian policymakers. It negates (in part) the threat posed by North Korea missiles.
She says the USA should offer North Korea a very clear deal about rolling back its nuclear weapons program.
"Missile defense buys you time and opens windows", said Todd Harrison, director of the Aerospace Security Project at the Center for Security and International Studies.
CNPC declined to comment on Monday when asked by Reuters if fuel sales to North Korea had resumed.
It said it will "consider further appropriate responses" to the North's action in close consultation with key partners and in line with United Nations Security Council (UNSC) sanctions.
The move is all the more shocking because North and South Korea are technically still at war. True, Kim Jong Un has nuclear weapons. "I think they would only use this particular weapon in a Hail Mary- the state is collapsing, the regime is gone kind of situation". The move came as part of the worldwide pressure on Pyongyang to curb its nuclear and missile programs.
Russia's government has other reasons for staking out a different position from Washington on the North Korean question. The U.S. military conducted a successful ICBM intercept test in late May, and an IRBM intercept test earlier this week.
According to Reuters, Chinese state-owned oil major CNPC has suspended diesel and gasoline sales to North Korea during the last month or two.
North Korea now has multiple paths to achieve a nuclear warhead ICBM. Ahead of the much-anticipated G20 summit meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, Tillerson argued that diplomatic dialogue could help ease the growing chasm between Washington and Moscow on North Korea.
The Wall Street Journal reported last month that the European Union had reached out to senior South Korean and Chinese officials, saying it was willing to play some kind of broker role if it could help. The North has already proved it can survive mass starvation and economic devastation.
Congress in 2013 required the Defense Department to research a third site for ground-based interceptors to defend the U.S. East Coast, in addition to the silos in Alaska and California. Presidents Clinton, G.W. Bush, and Obama all relied upon China to pressure Pyongyang - with no evidence to date of any influence.
THAAD continues to represents a very sore point in ongoing U.S.

Wonderful video shows dog rescuing baby deer
After Frankie recouped for a few mintues, he walked 1 1/4 miles back to the animal rescue vehicle. Once the dog brought the baby deer onto shore, he stood watch over it as Freeley called for help.
