Daniel Radcliffe moped robbery tourist slashed face London

HARRY Potter star Daniel Radcliffe rushed to help a tourist "slashed across the face" by moped thugs during a terrifying mugging on Friday evening. Videcette said he called police once he realized the two men were acting suspicious. Vidicette told the paper that he tried to pursue the assailants but they sped off and "I lost them as they were jumping red lights".

After attempting to stop the muggers from driving off on their moped, Videcette returned to the scene and noticed Radcliffe among the crowd attending to the injured tourist.

Mr Videcette said: "It was a bit of the surreal moment, I said "you're Daniel Radcliffe" and he replied "I am".

According to the Evening Standard, the Harry Potter star was among a group of people who rushed to the aid of a man who was attacked by two men in west London.

A Metropolitan Police representative also confirmed the crime, saying, "The victim - a man aged in his 50s - was walking in the road when two people riding a moped snatched his bag before riding off".

"They grappled with him on the pavement".

"He was a really nice bloke".

Mr Videcette, who was in a vehicle at the time, said he had unsuccessfully attempted to ram and follow the moped before returning to the scene and encountering Radcliffe.

There has been a spate of incidents involving mopeds in London in recent weeks, some involving suspected acid attacks.

Apart from sustaining cuts to the face and being visibly shaken, the victim is said to be fine and thankful for the help.

Radcliffe's spokeswoman confirmed the 27-year-old was present but made no further comment.

'Officers from Kensington and Chelsea investigate. Tom Hardy reportedly chased down a thief who stole a moped and performed a citizen's arrest in Richmond, south-west London, in April.
