Manchester United To Make A Final Attempt To Sign Eric Dier

Nemanja Matic is desperate to join Chelsea
Tottenham will rebuff any offers from Manchester United for their midfielder Eric Dier, a source close to the club has told Yahoo Sport UK.
According to the Mirror, United are willing to offer Tottenham one final bid of £60m and will withdraw their interest in the England global if Mauricio Pochettino's side continue to resist the Red Devils' advances.
The Red Devils have been chasing Dier all summer, but Spurs have so far been firm in their valuation of the England global, who joined Mauricio Pochettino's side from Sporting in 2014.
Dier started 34 Premier League games for Tottenham last season, being used in a variety of positions by boss Mauricio Pochettino as he played games at centre-back, full-back and in midfield. Although Mourinho re-signed the Serbian for Chelsea during his last stint as manager at Stamford Bridge, it now seems the 28-year-old is more likely to move to Italy with claims made over the weekend that Juventus and Internazionale are vying for his signature.
Mourinho thought he could prise Dier away from North London with a bid of around £40m and an offer to double his wages.
Yet Spurs are eager to ensure they are not viewed as a club willing to sell their top players - especially to domestic rivals - and will endeavour to ensure they make a stance over Dier.
Dier impressed in a midfield role during the 2015-16 season before Spurs signed Victor Wanyama, with the 23-year-old alternating between midfield and defence due to the Kenya international's great form during the 2016-17 campaign, making 36 Premier League appearances.
