Kerala HC drants interim bail to former DGP TP Senkumar
17 July 2017, 10:56 | Jodi Jackson
Former Kerala police chief T P Senkumar
Former Kerala police chief T P Senkumar, who is facing a case for anti-minority remarks, has now come under fire from women in the Malayalam film industry for purportedly making derogatory statements about an actress believed to have been abducted and sexually assaulted.
The court has granted the interim bail with some conditions.
The case against the former police chief was registered by Thiruvananthapuram Cyber Police on eight complaints from various organisations alleging that in an interview to a Kochi-based Malayalam publication, the former police chief had made statements aimed at causing communal disharmony. He was booked under Section 153 (A) of the IPC, promoting enmity between different groups on the grounds of religion. The court has posted the case to Monday for further hearing.
