Abigail Joining Street Fighter 5

It seems too much of a coincidence that Bandai Namco and Capcom would both independently decide to release beat-'em-up guest characters for their flagship fighters and announce them at EVO 2017. For those unaware, the hulking brute debuted as a boss in the first installment of Final Fight more than two decades ago. This will continue the series' good relationship with Final Fight, as we'll be receiving Abigail, as well as the Final Fight-inspired Metro City Arena, both of which are available on July 25.

From the released trailer, the upcoming character looks to excel in grappling moves and does vast damage once he gets hold of his puny foes.

Whether or not it will be Abigail remains to be seen, but it will not be a shock if it ends up being him. Abigail is a towering fighter who can run through an opponent's life bar with a nasty grapple move, a vicious punch combination and a Critical Art that treats his foe like a punching bag. In terms of size, think of Hugo, except bigger and more comically proportioned. The new character has several recipes for pain and they all begin with a single grappling move.

Street Fighter V is getting a new batch of costumes and stages on July 25. It's called Metro City Bay Area, and shows Abigail's Scrap Metal yard in the background.

The retro-style costumes for Alex and Ibuki are reminiscent of their Street Fighter III looks, while Juri's outfit comes from Street Fighter IV.
