Fans get behind-the-scenes look at Star Wars with new video

17 July 2017, 05:01 | Myron Mathis

Director Johnson was on hand to give interviews and spoke out on Carrie's final performance as General Leia.

The film is due to hit Irish screens on December 15 this year, and is expected to be a smash hit.

Speaking with Good Morning America, he said: "Carrie gives a really handsome performance in the film". "A lot of running, a lot of shooting", Boyega said of Finn, who had been wounded by Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) and separated from Rey (Daisy Ridley) as she left to look for Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill) in "Star Wars: The Force Awakens".

"He said: "[I hope it] emotionally gives some kind of catharsis.it gives some kind of emotional satisfaction. "Given that though, I think there are scenes that she has that are going to mean a lot to people", he added. "I know for me it does".

With the fast approaching mid-December release of The Last Jedi, Disney has proven itself to be effective in keeping information vague regarding the details about the movie.

We do know that Carrie Fisher shot enough footage for The Last Jedi to have a significant role in the film, but according to statements by Lucasfilm exec Kathleen Kennedy and others, there will be no footage of Fisher used in Star Wars 9 even though Leia was originally meant to figure heavily in the story.

Carrie Fisher's role in "Star Wars: The Last Jedi" is set to offer "some kind of catharsis" for fans of the late actress.

Following the red motif of the first trailer, the new teaser posters showcase the key characters in crimson attire that matches the movie's logo.
