End to JD(U) fight only after presidential election

Bihar Mahagathbandhan: RJD leaders urge Nitish Kumar, Lalu Prasad to resolve crisis

JDU, RJD rift: Nitish Kumar is the boss, Tejashwi Yadav should have met him, says Janata Dal United

This assertion from the RJD chief thus brought an end to speculations that Tejashwi Yadav might step down from the post to save the ruling alliance.

Sources also claimed that Nitish Kumar, who is under tremendous pressure to sack Tejashwi Yadav, is ready to seek fresh mandate and sacrifice his government if RJD remains tight-lipped on the fate of Bihar deputy CM.

The current crisis was sparked by the CBI raids last week on Lalu's residence and cases filed against him, Tejashwi and others in an alleged land-for-hotels scandal. The statement came amid the speculation that Nitish Kumar might take some strong decisions regarding the grand alliance in the state after the Presidential election that is now going on. On July 10, state BJP president Nityanand Rai had said that the BJP would give outside support to Nitish government if he parted ways with the RJD. "The MLAs were called to inform them about the voting details on Monday", state JD-U President Bashishtha Narayan Singh said. The party said it will 'not take even 5 minutes to walk out of the government' if need be.

"The Vidhan Mandal of our party has taken a decision that Tejashwi Yadav will not resign", Lalu told ANI in an exclusive conversation. Another Congress leader and minister Awadhesh Singh said on Sunday: "People of the country are looking up to Nitish Kumar, who can emerge as a national leader".

However, RJD supreme Lalu Yadav later informed that Tejashwi will not resign.

Tyagi also reacted to Lalu Yadav's statement in which he said that Tejashwi would present his facts only before investigating agencies by saying, "The CM does deserve an explanation from his deputy".

Leaders of both the alliance partners are of the view that Nitish and Lalu should sit, talk and resolve issues rather than allowing the Opposition an easy opportunity to take advantage of their differences.

While the JD-U legislators met at Chief Minister and party president Nitish Kumar's residence, the RJD held a meet at party chief Lalu Prasad Yadav's place, before holding a joint meeting with the Congress at a hotel on Sunday evening. "I appeal to Nitish Kumar with folded hands to solve the crisis and save Mahagathbandhan from split", he said, adding that the BJP has been trying to split the alliance.
