Chelsea striker Costa parties in Atletico shirt and mocks Conte

17 July 2017, 07:48 | Charlene Valdez

Both Diego Costa and Nemanja Matic have made it clear they want to depart Chelsea, which has lead to them being left out of the preseason squad.

Chelsea open their pre-season programme against Arsenal in Beijing on 22 July before travelling to Singapore for games against Bayern Munich and Inter Milan.

Conte famously let Costa know that his services would not be required next season via text message and the whole affair seems to have turned sour in the public eye.

Diego Costa has never been a fan of the subtle approach. In it, we see him wearing the shirt of former club, Atletico Madrid.

Costa, now twenty-eight-years-old, scored twenty goals in thirty-five league appearances last season.

Costa has been linked with a return to Atleti in recent weeks. He has been yearning for a move to his previous club Atletico Madrid.

The Blues' top scorer will be unable to play until January as Atletico are now under a transfer embargo.

So far this transfer window, the Blues have already lost out to Manchester United in the race to sign Belgium striker Romelu Lukaku from Everton, even though Chelsea matched Manchester Utd's £75 million bid.

And yesterday Chelsea confirmed the signing of Monaco powerhouse Tiemoue Bakayoko. However, it is likely that the Belgian youngster will again be used as backup and a more household name will be brought to Stamford Bridge.
