KFC releases smartphone with fingerprint scanner
Collection items are produced in limited-edition quantities, so when they sell out, they're gone, with KFC adding that "the fried chicken faithful are encouraged to act fast and then keep an eye out for the next collection to be released". A total of 5000 units of the limited edition phone will be released priced at 1099 yuan (about A$209).
The KFC handset comes with a 5-inch display with 1280 x 720 resolution, a Snapdragon 425 SoC, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a 3,020 mAh battery.
According toForbes, the phone is a version of the Huawei Enjoy 7 Plus, which is a mid-range phone that's only available in limited markets. The sensor shares the back with a laser-etched Colonel Sanders logo on the special edition phone. And given Google Translate's not so reliable translations of Asian languages, we'll just give you a gist of what the announcement read. You shouldn't expect the KFC phone to come to the US, Australia or United Kingdom anytime soon though, this is nearly certainly a China exclusive only. It will come with Android 7.0.
