Scalise shooter had a list of 6 Congressmen's names in his pocket

The FBI says the man who opened fire on a congressional baseball practice last week acted alone, and did not have ties to any terror organization.

A gunman appears to have acted alone when he opened fire on Republican lawmakers' baseball practice, seriously wounding Representative Steve Scalise, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Hodgkinson's posts did not include "threats or references to Members of Congress or the Congressional baseball game".

Hodgkinson also frequented a local library during his time in the Alexandria area and, based on photographs found on his cellphone, saw various sites in D.C., such as the Supreme Court, the Library of Congress and the Washington Monument.

The FBI also confirmed an account given to the news media by Rep. Ron DeSantis, a Republican who said that as he was leaving the practice, just minutes before the shooting, Hodgkinson had approached him and asked whether the baseball players on the field were Republicans or Democrats. Scalise remains hospitalized, and his condition was upgraded to fair on Wednesday.

Rep. Steve Scalise, the lawmaker injured last week in a shooting, is out of the intensive care unit at the hospital he's being treated at, according to multiple media outlets.

"I know that he was struggling in all kinds of different ways, but I do not know the specifics of why he intended, or his motive at the time", Slater said".

Slater said Hodgkinson was not known to have a history of diagnosed mental illness, though he displayed "anger management" issues. When they searched the unit, investigators found components for the SKS rifle, a receipt for the November 2016 gun purchase, and more than 200 rounds of ammunition.

Capitol Police Special Agent Crystal Griner, who was shot in the ankle, was allowed to leave her hospital in a wheelchair on Wednesday to throw out the ceremonial first pitch at the Congressional Women's Softball Game. He also visited the office of Sen. "However, a review of the shooter's web searches on the months prior to the shootings revealed only a cursory of two - a cursory search that is - of two of those members", the statement said. A family member told investigators Hodgkinson had expressed a desire to return to IL in a message on June 12.

Hodgkinson was living in his vehicle in the parking lot of the YMCA across the street from the baseball field, Slater said. "He was married for 30 years, and it appears that that marriage was not going so well", Slater said. U.S. Capitol Police and other officers returned fire and killed Hogdkinson, an unemployed home inspector with a deep animus toward President Donald Trump and other Republicans. He approached two congressmen who left the practice early and inquired of them if the practicing team was Republican or Democrat, the officials stated.

Investigators also found indications that Hodgkinson meant to go home to Belleville, Illinois on his computer.
