Russian Federation vows to target United States planes as targets henceforth

In a statement given by the Department of Defense to various * a href="http://hosted2.ap.org/APDefault/*/Article_2017-06-18-US--United%20States-Syria/id-8a92d6bae00846daa1d1bbf8ab54c719" *media outlets, the USA military confirmed that a US F/A-18E Super Hornet fighter jet had shot down a Syrian SU-22 aircraft, which had allegedly bombed the USA -backed Syrian Democratic Forces.

Russia, a key ally of Syrian President Bashar Assad, has been providing an air cover to the government's offensive since 2015.

The ministry said it views the incident as Washington's "deliberate failure to make good on its commitments" under the de-confliction deal and called on the USA military to provide a full account of why it made a decision to shoot down the Syrian SU-22.

Russian Federation will regard any flights within the area of its air force group's operation in Syria as legitimate targets, the ministry stressed.

"The Coalition's mission is to defeat ISIS in Iraq and Syria", its statement said.

Syria condemned what it called a "flagrant attack" that would have "dangerous repercussions". On June 8, USA officials reported that a drone likely connected to Iranian-supported Hezbollah forces fired on US -backed troops and was shot down by an American fighter jet.

The truce that went into effect Saturday came after some of the worst fighting in months between rebels and pro-government forces. The pilot ejected over the area controlled by terrorists, his fate is unknown.

A USA defense official told Fox News that the Super Hornet that shot down the Syrian jet was based on board the USS George H.W. Bush, which is now operating in the Mediterranean Sea.

Russia, Syria's main ally, said it was also halting communication with the United States aimed at preventing air incidents.

He also called on everyone on the ground to "respect Syria's sovereignty and territorial integrity".

It said that several hours earlier, regime forces had attacked the SDF in another town near Tabqa, wounding several and driving the SDF from the town. "That's why there's no threat of direct confrontation between Russian Federation and American aircraft".

It is advancing towards the region on three fronts, south of Raqa, through the Badia desert region in central Syria, and along Syria's eastern border.

The immediate outcome was the imposition of an all-out, Saudi-led economic blockade against Qatar-itself an act of war.

The Trump regime signalled its determination to ramp up the war in Syria in April when it launched a barrage of cruise missile strikes against a Syrian government air base on the pretext of unsubstantiated claims that the regime had carried out a gas attack.

Iran has been providing support to Assad against anti-government rebel groups and Islamic State.

It denied the United States had used a communications channel before the SU-22 fighter bomber was downed.

The US and Syria is at loggerheads for a few years now.

The downing of a Syrian government warplane by the United States is a step toward a risky escalation, and Moscow is warning Washington not to use force against Syrian government troops, a senior Russian diplomat told Interfax news agency on Monday.
