Mo Brook's name found on hit list of Congressional baseball shooter

Dr. Jack Sava of MedStar Washington Hospital Center said it's a "good possibility" that the Louisiana Republican will be able to return to work in his full capacity.

The person did not disclose the names, but said those listed had been briefed.

Scalise, the No. 3 House Republican, arrived at the hospital via helicopter in shock, with intense internal bleeding, Sava said.

Handwritten on notepad paper, the list of names included Alabama Rep. Mo Brooks, South Carolina Rep. Jeff Duncan and Arizona Rep. Trent Franks, anonymous sources told the Daily Caller.

President Donald Trump said Friday that Steve Scalise "took a bullet for all of us".

Scalise is sedated, but the husband and father of two has been able to respond to his doctors and family.

Scalise has undergone multiple surgeries and will need more. "I think that his risk of death right now is substantially lower than when he came in. he was as critical as you can be when he came in".

A spokesman for George Washington University Hospital said that Matt Mika, a lobbyist wounded in the attack, was improving, and that as of Thursday night his condition had been upgraded from critical to serious. Capitol Police said they had "no evidence to suggest that the purchases were not lawful".

For now, Scalise remains in critical condition in the hospital's intensive care unit.

Hodgkinson, a Belleville, Illinois, home inspector who had been living out of his van near the park, had a social media page filled with criticism of Republicans and the Trump administration. He died after officers in Scalise's security detail and local police fired at him.

The surgeon on Friday said he was "a lot more confident and optimistic" about Scalise's recovery than he was two days ago.

Sava also said that Crystal Griner, one of the U.S. Capitol Police officers credited with saving Scalise and others at the field, sustained a gunshot wound to her ankle. "I'm prayerful he will pull through, and I hope he does", he said.

Hodgkinson is accused of shooting at several members of the Republican baseball team that was practicing this week for the annual congressional baseball game played for charity.
