It certainly didn't take long for Jaylen Brown to get his slice of humble pie.

Up Next - With the first two games of the Eastern Conference Finals in the books - and the Cavaliers coming home having thoroughly dominated the Celtics - the series shifts back to Cleveland for next two. "We need the Celtics to show up and win".

The Celtics played the second half without Isaiah Thomas due to a strained right hip.

The 72-31 halftime advantage surpassed the 40-point margin held by the Detroit Pistons over the Washington Bullets on April 26, 1987.

The Cavs' big 3 combined for 74 points, outscoring the Celtics 74-57 in the first three quarters.

Thomas shot 44.9 percent from the field and raised his three-point efficiency from 20 percent in the first round to 46.3 percent against the Wizards. "He's put up huge numbers in these playoffs, so for us, we just made a conscious effort on our end to keep all eyes on him at all times, but also, respect the other guys and make the other guys do things they're uncomfortable doing". Even with James and the rest of the starters sitting out the fourth quarter, the 130-point total was the most in the franchise's playoff history.

BOSTON (AP) - An NBA playoff-record, 41-point halftime lead.

Here are three quick takeaways from Game 2.

Lebron James has never lost a series when the team he plays for jumped out to a 2-0 lead.

By the Numbers - 8 ... straight games that LeBron James has tallied at least 30 points during Cleveland's current postseason run, including nine of Cleveland's 10 Playoff games in 2017. Or maybe LeBron James was just being LeBron James. "While the Cavs have been dominant against the Celtics, especially the last two games which were both in Boston, we're respecting the sharp action on the Celtics".

The Celtics are simply overmatched. This was a must-win game for the Celtics, and just as it was in Game 1, they were out of it nearly immediately. If that occurs, it would be the third straight sweep this postseason for the defending National Basketball Association champions, who also won the last three games of last year's finals. After Game 1, it wasn't too hard to think of ways the Celtics could be more competitive.

Thomas will have additional tests Saturday and will be re-evaluated before the team determines his status for Game 3. Do the Cavs win by 60?

This series is over.

Said Bradley: "I hope not. We played all the way through for 48 minutes", Cleveland coach Tyronn Lue said.

Cleveland is just playing too well right now and an NBA Finals matchup with the Warriors is inevitable.

"The game's over. We've already been embarrassed".
