The Flynn News is Fake News

Former Acting Attorney General Sally Yates testifies about potential Russian interference in the presidential election before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill

Earlier this year, Flynn had resigned after it turned out he had lied to Vice President Pence about conversations with a Russian ambassador. The issue here was that the President got to the point where General Flynn's relationship - misleading the Vice President and others, or the possibility that he had forgotten critical details of this important conversation had created a critical mass and an unsustainable situation.

"To state the obvious, you don't want your national security adviser compromised by the Russians", Yates told a Senate Judiciary subcommittee. Russian Federation has repeatedly denied any meddling in the election and the Trump administration denies allegations of collusion with Russian Federation.

Yates, who was sacked by President Trump on January 30, said that it is believed that the Russian government had recordings of Flynn's call.

Former acting Attorney General Sally Yates testified to great praise yesterday, but Sean Spicer was dismissive and unimpressed today during his press briefing at the White House.

In her testimony, Yates said that she had called McGahn the Monday after they met to tell him the material was ready to review. Republican members pointedly asked Ms. Yates and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, who testified with her, whether they leaked the information to the media. He pushed back on Yates' comments addressing the firing of Michael Flynn as Trump's national security adviser.

Notably, Trump's own White House requested the House and Senate investigations after he took to Twitter on a Saturday morning and accused Obama of tapping the phones in Trump Tower. But second, and most importantly, she said that "the Russians also knew that General Flynn had misled the vice president and others", exposing Flynn to blackmail.

And yet General Flynn was confirmed as National Security Advisor in February, only to be forced to resign within 24 hours for lying for his contact with the Russian Ambassador.

Spicer suggested that action proved that Yates was "not exactly someone that was excited about President Trump taking office or his agenda".

The pair spoke several times over the next two days, with McGahn asking Yates how Flynn had fared during an interview with the Federal Bureau of Investigation earlier that week - she did not answer - and why it was the concern of the Justice Department if White House officials had misled each other.

After revisiting the timeline, Spicer said: "I think that the process worked, frankly, when you think of the time in which we had the information to make the decision that the president made".
