A rap group backed by China's government is warning South Korea in a music video that "you're going too far" with the deployment of a US missile defense system, as Beijing seeks to bring its state-supported cultural forces to bear in the global dispute.
U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson on Thursday urged North Korea to "trust the U.S." on its promise of no hostility and to refrain from conducting anymore nuclear or missile tests so as to create the right atmosphere for talks.
Tillerson was also quoted as saying he hopes the North will trust the USA despite what it considers the burden of risks involved in doing so.
At the United Nations, North Korea's deputy ambassador, Kim In Ryong, was defiant.
A spokesman for the Italian mission to the United Nations, which chairs the U.N. Kim In Ryong also dismisses allegations that North Korea was behind the recent global cyberattacks as "ridiculous", saying "whenever something odd happens it is the stereotype way of the United States and the hostile forces" to launch a campaign deliberately linking it to Pyongyang.
"The U.S. should mind that the DPRK nuclear striking capability will be strengthened and developed at a rapidly high speed as long as the U.S. insists (on) its anti-DPRK policy, nasty nuclear threats and blackmails, sanction and pressure", Kim said.
