Klopp recognises importance of Champions League spot to attracting top transfer targets

Klopp is hopeful forward Roberto Firmino will be fit to return.

Liverpool missed out on European football entirely last season after suffering defeat to Sevilla in the final of the Europa League and Klopp is happy with the simplicity of the equation facing his side. That is very interesting and is one part of it, but we are already in a good position.

"You know we have been in talks with some clubs in England as well, but this time I chose to make the decision as to what I feel and what I prefer for myself", Draxler told BBC World Service.

A win at home to already-relegated Middlesborough on Sunday will ensure Champions League football for the Reds next season, and Klopp is hoping that a top-four finish will give his side an advantage when it comes to bringing in new players.

The Germany worldwide has become a regular under Unai Emery in the French capital this season but was unable to prevent PSG surrendering their Ligue 1 crown to Monaco, ending the club's four-year reign as champions.

Klopp would need to change from a diamond formation to a traditional 4-3-3 as it allows players such as Adam Lallana and Divock Origi to push higher up the pitch and press the Middlesborough defence who are normally comfortable on the ball. We are a club without financial problems and we have money to spend but it makes sense to think before we spend and that is what we are doing.

"At this stage I'd rather say yes than maybe".

Klopp, meanwhile, insists that skipper Jordan Henderson will make a full recovery from the foot injury that has kept him out since February.

"It's not that hard an injury, it's hard to make the rehabilitation".

"But we're never without our captain for one second because Hendo is always around. The only problem was the season was a little bit too short for him to come back". My day is not just 24 hours.

"We'll do everything we can to set the team up well in order to put up a top performance for our supporters", said Agnew, who is thought unlikely to get the manager job full-time.

'If not, we don't deserve it. If start is not good that doesn't mean we will stop.

"The big difference is that it's the last one, so it's a big opportunity for us".
