Trump Administration Taps Scott Brown as Ambassador to New Zealand
President Trump on Thursday announced the nomination of Scott Brown, a former senator from MA who later unsuccessfully sought a Senate seat from New Hampshire, as his ambassador to New Zealand. "He is going to obviously take my application, interest under consideration".
The role is at least the second in the administration for which Brown, formerly of Wrentham, has been considered.
If Brown is confirmed by the U.S. Senate, his newest title will be Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United States of America to New Zealand, according to the White House. But it seems like this time, the island nation is excited to have someone with Brown's modeling background.
WASHINGTON (AP) President Donald Trump has announced plans to nominate former Massachusetts Sen.
Brown is a lawyer and former state legislator who served in the Massachusetts Army National Guard. Brown has also worked as a political analyst for Fox News, the White House noted in its release. He ran for the Senate in New Hampshire in 2014 but was unable to defeat Democratic incumbent Jeanne Shaheen.
Brown lost his Senate seat to Elizabeth Warren during the 2012 election.
