20 April 2017, 07:26 | Jodi Jackson

Mobile balance management app "True Balance" plans to provide balance checking and recharging function for Reliance Jio users. Airtel begs to differ.

Reliance Jio did not offer global calling plans until recently.

A third caveat by the company read, "This benefit will be provided to a combination of a unique VIVO mobile device and JIO mobile number, only once". As per the reports from trusted sources, this offer will be launched soon to the public.

On January 31, Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) held that Jio's free voice calls and data plan were not in violation of the regulatory guidelines. We have included them for you to choose the right plan.

The firm said 4G speeds in India are still very low where the global average is 17.4 Mbps. Although there are some usage limitations on voice calls. On the other networks, you can make 3,000 minutes calls (Local +STD) for 70 days.

Further, if you crossed this voice calling limit, you will be charged Rs. 0.10 per minute. In case, the user registers after April 30, the complimentary 4G data entitlement of the Jio user will be reduced to 50 percent of the total complimentary 4G data. It's worth noting that your 2GB data can be consumed anytime of the day or night as there will be no restriction to use certain amount of data during the day and night. Apart from this data usage, the voice calling packs remain same as in Rs. 399 plan.

"At the end of the series you will accumulate all your 4G data which could be as much as 168 GB if your team wins all matches", the company said.

Fine print: When it comes to calls, users get 300 minutes of daily voice calling and 1,200 minutes for a week within the same network for free. This voice calling is limited to Airtel networks only. Their customer base has gone down enormously in few months only.

Airtel has launched its new data-oriented plan at Rs. 399 only. Now you can enjoy data surfing any time. Under the new offer, Jio subscribers with a Vivo smartphone can avail up to 168GB free 4G data, applicable over and above the existing pack used by the user.
