Patriots' Gronk crashes the White House briefing

Many of them visited on Wednesday, anyway.

Thirty four members of the Patriots squad were absent from the visit, while 34 attended the ceremony.

But um... Danny Amendola wasn't there either.

"Everyone played a role, and everyone played as champions", Trump said. King posted video from the White House on his Instagram account on Wednesday and wrote: "Worked my ass off to be able to take this trip, and for the fantastic opportunity to be here with my teammates and coaches". White reportedly wasn't at the White House visit.

Brady is a personal friend of Trump's, and the president often cited the quarterback while out on the campaign trail past year. Brady didn't go to the White House, citing a family situation. Trump frequently describes Brady as a friend.

Trump also referenced the big 25-point comeback in the Super Bowl where he made a joke about the media and pundits.

Despite Trump's claims at a New Hampshire rally that Brady said, "Donald, I support you, you're my friend and I voted for you", his wife Gisele B√ľndchen denied they supported the president. What do you guys think?

Now, you could try and argue that maybe Trump didn't do this on goal, but you'll have a hard time winning that argument.

"For 48 years, my sisters and I have had the best example of love, friendship and compassion in our lives!" he wrote.

"Immediately to me that means he's going to tone it down because what he said was so nice". You know what he did? "He made that the greatest letter".

"I like you", Gronk told Spicer.

Anyway, not everyone on the Patriots' roster backed out of the White House visit. For instance, when the 1986 champion Chicago Bears were honored by President Barack Obama in 2011, former player Dan Hampton refused to attend because he opposed the Democrat's agenda. The NFL Network said the Denver Broncos had almost full attendance for their Super Bowl championship White House trip previous year when Barack Obama was president. "Winning the Super Bowl was an accomplishment that I've been working for since I was 5 years old".

A handful of other Patriots players had already opted out of the trip, some citing political differences with Trump. He compared the team's epic comeback to Trump's triumph on the campaign trail, noting he beat out "16 career politicians" (in the Republican primaries) to shock the world and earn a spot in the White House.
