Majority says Ivanka, Kushner's White House roles inappropriate

Riebling looked into all trademark applications filed in China by Ivanka Trump's company.
According to CNN, her firm has already acquired 16 fully registered trademarks in the country before getting provisional approvals for two other trademarks on February 20 and March 6.
As government ethics experts Richard Painter, Norman Eisen, and Virginia Canter wrote after Trump and Kushner's financial disclosure forms became public a few weeks ago, the couple has "so many potential conflicts of interest that if they abide by ethics laws and past White House practices, they won't be able to advise the president on three of his top priorities: Trade, tax reform and Wall Street deregulation".
Any dealings she makes under her new position which benefits her or her family's business poses unsafe potential conflicts of interest.
Despite this, the Chinese aspect of Ivanka's contacts still remains a nagging concern.
Ivanka Trump also gets her lowest marks from the millennial age bracket, similarly to the first lady. In a statement to CNN, Abigail Klem, president of Ivanka Trump's company, claims the awarding of trademarks are simply the "normal course of doing business".

Collins noted that the conflicts of interest swirling around Ivanka are similar to those that have nagged at her father since he launched his run for office. After media reports about the deal, talks were called off. "For their own sake, and the country's, Ivanka and Jared should consider stepping away from China matters".
And when news broke that Nordstrom would be dropping Ivanka's line - the official comment on the matter was the decision was made due to falling sales, not political pressure - President Trump weighed in on Twitter to decry what he deemed to be Nordstrom's "unfair" and "terrible" treatment of his daughter.
Under the rules, Ivanka Trump would recuse herself from conversations about duties on clothing imported from China, Ms Gorelick said, but not broad foreign policy.
Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, a government watchdog group, on Tuesday expanded the scope of its federal lawsuit against Mr Trump to include trademark approvals from China in its list of alleged constitutional violations. The online retailer also reported sales of Ivanka items in 15 different states that Trump won that had not seen orders of a single Ivanka product from the site in the previous year.
"She needs to be careful", Mr Painter said.
The Associated Press reported that since Trump took office on January 20, Ivanka Trump's Ivanka Trump Marks LLC has won provisional approval from China for at least five new trademarks, adding to 16 already registered and more than 30 pending applications. He argued that while she may not have been directly involved in securing these trademarks, it was unlikely a foreign government would deny a request from a company owned by a family member of the president.
