Link Deco M5 Launched, Joins Mesh Router Bandwagon

We will have to wait and see if the company will be able to make most of its brand reputation in the mesh router market or people choose to opt for tri-band routers with higher speed. The newly launched mesh router comprises three units that are capable of covering up to 4,500 square feet of space, and you can add more of them later to cover even larger areas - which is the point of mesh networking. The product has already been made available for purchase through HSN and other online and retail stores at a price of United States dollars 299 (roughly Rs. 19,300) for a three-pack system.

TP-Link's Deco M5 whole-home Wi-Fi system joins a growing range of mesh networking options, and at $299 (approximately ₹19,271), is competitively priced. This also includes settings such as device access control and parental controls.

Deco M5 uses ART, Adaptive Routing Technology, which ensures that the fastest internet connection is selected for devices while optimizing the connections between the different mesh units.

The mesh router system is powered by a quad-core processor and deploys the latest mesh technology. Deco M5 provides users with seamless wireless Internet coverage, which automatically optimises Wi-Fi connections for every device while offering comprehensive security through its TP-Link HomeCare.

Each router has dual-band AC1000 support with 400 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band, the same as competing kits linke Google Wifi, Luma and Eero. Not only this, up to 10 Deco M5 units can be connected to a single network at any time, which will increase the coverage area substantially.

A key highlight of the Deco M5 is the line-up of built-in security features. TP-Link HomeCare provides exploit and malware protection, powered by Trend Micro*, along with an SPI firewall, device access control and secure remote control of the network via the TP-Link Deco mobile app, ensuring that your home network is always safe and secure. Through the Android or iOS app, TP-Link says users can easily set up whole-home Wi-Fi coverage in just minutes.
