You can't forcibly hang someone from a bed sheet in a prison cell, can you?
Baez's surprise that Hernandez would actually commit suicide is shared by the former tight end's representative, Brian Murphy, who couldn't make sense of the news because he thought it was something Hernandez would never do. They reported finding no suicide note. He was in a single cell in a general population unit in the maximum-security state prison.

A prison spokesman told the Boston Globe that Hernandez had not been on a suicide watch and did not indicate that he meant to harm himself. "If there had been concerns, Hernandez would have been on mental health watch in a different part of the prison, the spokesperson said".
His death marks one of the most dramatic falls from grace by an athlete in recent memory, and comes the same day that many of his former teammates visit the White House as Super Bowl champions.

Hernandez was serving a life sentence without possibility of parole for the 2013 slaying of Odin Lloyd.
The death of the former National Football League star comes less than a week after he was acquitted in a 2012 double slaying.
Hernandez was moved to tears on Friday after he was acquitted of the 2012 fatal shootings of Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado in Boston. As the jury was deliberating, cameras spied Hernandez blowing kisses to the young daughter he fathered with fiancée Shayanna Jenkins.
Jose Baez said that there is no way that Hernandez would have killed himself.
