Chicago Bulls Beat Boston Celtics to Take 2-Game Lead

Blake Griffin isn't the star we think he

"A lot of times in transition, I think we're just trying to get, down 10, trying to get the game back in one play", Stevens said following the game, via the Boston Herald. "We're the No. 1 seed, and then they say we're one of the worst No. 1 seeds".

There were doubts about Rajon Rondo and Dwyane Wade during the regular season and whether they could lead the Bulls.

The Chicago Bulls powered past the Boston Celtics 111-97 on Tuesday (Apr 18) to take a 2-0 lead over the Eastern Conference top seeds in their National Basketball Association playoff first-round series.

That's right. Rondo and MJ are the only two Chicago players to have such a game over the last 30 years. Rondo, a former Celtic who won a championship in Boston, just missed the 11th triple-double of his playoff career with 11 points, 14 assists and nine rebounds. "It's not ideal, but we feel like we can bounce back", said Jae Crowder. "That's where your confidence always comes from".

The Bulls look to go up a commanding 3-0 when they host the Celtics at the United Center on Friday.

For the Celtics, Isaiah Thomas was the team's top scorer with 20 points, while Marcus Smart (13 points, 8 rebounds) kept the team in the game with some gritty offensive and defensive plays.

Jordan finished with 18 points and 15 rebounds, and Chris Paul added 21 points and 10 assists for the Clippers, who crushed the Jazz in the paint, 60-38.

That changed quickly, though, as the Bulls responded with a 20-4 run. He paced Boston with 33 points.

Bradley found inspiration in the way Thomas performed in Game 1.

Additionally, when comparing the Bulls' and Celtics' rosters, the Bulls clearly have the upper hand on experience and talent. "Rajon, when he got back in there, I thought was really, really good with that second group. It wasn't moving at all", Celtics guard Avery Bradley said. We knew they'd come out and play with great energy.

After all, the Bulls finished the season with an underwhelming 41-41 record. George Hill chipped in 12 points and seven boards. Now hold a 22-rebound advantage through two games of the series. Thomas scored only once in the fourth quarter when Butler stayed exclusively on him. Portis, who had a huge game in the opener, played just 9:22 and had three points and three rebounds.

Wade said the Bulls' performance so far in this series is a testament to how much they've grown. Stevens further stated that Thomas' previous play just goes to show that he is an fantastic player not just in Boston but in the league. "It helps at the same time I knew the circumstances of what my team needed from me".
