Always take these things with a grain of salt, but it appears that the iPhone 8 back panel design has leaked and it's very revealing.
According to the Bloombergreport, the company is now testing new smartphones, not one, but there are two new smartphones, aside from the iPhone 8, set to arrive this year.
The new iPhone is tipped to use an organic light-emitting diode display that shows more accurate colours.
Rumours have already suggested this phone will not come cheap (with a price tag potentially as much as $US1,000-around $AU1,330) but Bloomberg says it may not come quickly either.
"We are working to see that (Apple) brings its entire componentmaking ecosystem to Bengaluru and begins to export from here", one of the officials said. "This raises expectations for this year's phone having a material change in functionality and look", said Gene Munster, co-founder of Loup Ventures and a veteran Apple analyst. The model was the most laureate of the generations launched by Apple and since then, the indications in sales hinted that the company had hit the ceiling. The company is also expected to establish brand new facilities for component manufacturing at a second location later.
The third one is probably the anticipated iPhone 8. Apple is schedule to release their iPhone 5S on Friday.
Spokespeople for Apple and Samsung declined to comment.
Expansion into new markets and products may also require hardware unique to Apple's needs that isn't immediately available from outside suppliers.
Report claims that Apple is also planning to relocate the Touch ID fingerprint scanner of the iPhone. "They assured me they will do whatever is possible", he said.
Kuo goes on to explain that Samsung's inaugural adoption of a dual-lens camera system will be "the most important upgrade" to the Note 8, and that it will likely boast a myriad of advanced features including "3x optical zoom, 12MP wide-angle CIS supporting dual photodiode (2PD), 13MP telephoto CIS, dual 6P lenses and dual OIS".
He feels that Apple stock is now undervaluing a return to growth for the iPhone and an ever-growing subscriber base.
Apple has been testing using faster processors based on a smaller 10-nanometer production process for all three new models, a person familiar with Apple's chip plans said.

The rise in Dublin was lower than the national average at 8.3 per cent - but it remains the most expensive place to buy a home. An easing of Central Bank lending rules and the new Government help-to-buy subsidy has seen mortgage approvals surge.
