Alleged Honor 9 renders surfaced online

Huawei's sub-brand Honor has unveiled its new offering Honor Bee 2 in India priced at Rs. 7,499.

A render image of alleged Honor 9 has surfaced on the Chinese social media platform, Weibo, showing device's front and back panel. This change would be the placement of the fingerprint scanner. The only other distinction is the shape of the back panel. This appears to be embedded in the home button of the phone.

The Smart Key feature was present in the preceding Honor 8 model. But if it really is the Honor 9 that we can see in the picture, we hope these are just some early renders that will be improved upon before the phone launches. The camera comes with laser autofocus as well as dual-LED flash. The front-facing selfie camera looks similar to the one used on the Honor 8.

There is no exact information on the legitimacy of the rendered images on the Internet. It is hardly surprising, as the Honor 8 was launched over the course of July and August across the world and was widely well received. The phone comes with a 4.50-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480 pixels by 854 pixels.

Paired with 1 GB of RAM it packs 8 GB inbuilt storage further expandable via a microSD card (up to 32 GB). The smartphone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and offers a customised interface - EMUI 4.1. A 3000 mAh battery is in the phone that claims to deliver talk-time of up to 17.5 hours and standby time of up to 380 hours on 3G networks.

Honor 8 has the dual camera setup. There is also a dual-tone LED flashlight in the back too. In its front lies an 8-megapixel shooter with f/2.4 aperture has been provided for selfies. We'll probably see what happens with the Honor 9 in the months ahead, or sometime next year (in the worst case scenario).
