Rita's to serve free Italian ices on first day of spring

20 March 2017, 04:29 | Myron Mathis

Celebrate spring Monday with free ice cream, ices

Rita's offers free italian ice on Monday, March 20

It's a tradition the national company has repeated for two decades, and a year ago, the chain gave away over one million Italian ices in a nine-hour period.

All non-mall locations will allow one free cone per customer. If you want multiple servings, a larger size or something fancier, like a gelati or blendini, you'll have to pay.

Monday marks the first day of spring, heralding a season of renewal and blooms.

Today is the day to get your free sugar fix. In fact all Rewards accounts will be automatically given a free punch on Monday, so don't worry about scanning any QR codes.

It's hard to imagine that today is the first day of Spring.

"On the First Day of Spring, Rita's will give away Italian Ice to more people than the population of Vermont and Wyoming combined", says Jim Aumack, a spokesperson for the company, in an email to lohudfood.

It's nearly here! #RitasFirstDayofSpring #FREE Italian Ice #Giveaway is TOMORROW! Find Rita's locations and the contest rules here. Runners up will receive Rita's gift cards.
