BREAKING: Doctor commits suicide, jumps off Third Mainland Bridge

Update: Man jumps off Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos

The yet to be identified man was driving a Nissan sport utility vehicle with registration no. LND 476 EE.

Already, policemen from Adeniji Police Station had taken the driver and the SUV to the police station.

The man, who was reportedly driven to the spot by a driver, jumped into the Lagoon via the Third Mainland bridge.

The LASEMA boss, who said they have also alerted those in the neighbourhood to watch out for any floating body, noted that it was not certain if the body would be recovered on Monday.

The woman who dressed in a blouse and pants had earlier been seen walking aimlessly and when she got to the middle of the bridge, she climbed the rail and jumped.

She explained that she also tried to get people to stop him from jumping to his death to no avail, adding that the Doctor left a note on his personalized doctor's notepad with his house address. I parked and ran as fast as my legs could carry me, but it was too late.

"I'm still in shock, I couldn't control my tears". Loads of people stopped because they saw me acting like a insane woman, the ambulance was present, the fishermen were trying to help, but it was too late!

For reasons yet-to-be ascertained, a medical doctor, identified as Dr. Orji, yesterday stopped his vehicle on the Third Mainland Bridge and jumped into the lagoon.

"The driver parked the vehicle, the doctor came down and immediately jumped into the Lagoon", witnesses said.

The Zone 2 spokesperson, SP Dolapo Badmos, said the marine police joined the Lagos command to search for the victim.
