Guess launches new Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch
ZTE's upcoming Android Wear 2.0 smartwatch has been rumored for quite a while now. The design is a lot similar to the original Connected watches from Guess which were basically hybrid models created in partnership with Martian. Just like its predecessor, it is named Guess Connect, and it's powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 chip.
Guess Connect smartwatch is available in 44mm and 41 case sizes so they're aimed at both men and women. Guess offers a good deal of customizability as well, with the Ladies version coming with a comfortably chic 41mm case that can be gilded in silver, gold or rose gold variations. The men's model is somewhat more traditional, with a "variety of dress and sport styles for the man who wants versatility in his watch accessory".
The Guess and Gc Connect smartwatches will be available later this year.
When it comes to features, the folks at Android Police say that the ZTE Quartz does not have NFC or a heart rate monitor. We should also note there's no rotating crown like on the LG Watch Style, but given that this is in all possibility a prototype maybe the consumer-ready product will come with one. Pricing and availability hasn't been announced, but Guess is targeting a fall/winter release. It was assumed that Apple had the luxury watch market locked up with its Apple Watch Edition, but with a mix of modern and traditional stylings, perhaps Android Wear could carve out its own niche among horologists.
