Steelers sign former Chiefs RB Knile Davis

According to Bob Labriola of steelers.com, cornerback Coty Sensabaugh and running back Knile Davis are both visiting with the Steelers on Monday. So far, his market has yet to heat up, but the first signs of interest have now surfaced with the reported visit to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Davis, who will certainly add National Football League experienced depth behind Le'Veon Bell, something only Fitzgerald Toussaint can claim on the current depth chart, has been primarily used as a kick returner since entering the NFL. While the Steelers have younger options, there's not a single drafted player on the roster below Bell, which could mean Davis has a nice chance of making the roster, if Pittsburgh is interested. Selected by the Chiefs in the third round of the 2013 NFL Draft, Davis has a number of impressive kick returns on his resume and has performed well when called upon to carry the ball. He's rushed for 805 yards and 11 touchdowns, while adding almost 2,000 yards and two touchdowns on kickoff returns.

Injuries have not helped, but Sensabaugh has struggled to hold down a regular starting position with numerous teams he has played on. He started 27 games and played 72 in four seasons with the Titans. He signed a three-year, $14.5 million contract with the Rams last March and was cut in October.
