10.5-inch iPad Pro set for April debut says report

Declining iPad sales are putting pressure on Apple's tablet segment.

The important thing to note here is that while it's clear Apple has new iPads in the pipeline, it's not explicitly clear when we will see them.

Since Apple usually invites the media at least 10 days before a launch event, it is possible that the iPad Pro 2 could be announced via press release instead. Ironically enough, the current model was launched on March 31st of past year, after being unveiled on stage at the company's spring event on March 21, 2016. Nonetheless, tech fans have already shared their own predictions on what to expect once the iPad Mini 5 comes out in the open.

If anything, Apple could finally bring the Pencil outside iPad Pro land in September at its next iPhone event. In general, Apple offers more in bigger, costlier models, not less-just look at the Plus series of iPhones. For example, the current generation iPads boast an A9X chip which corresponds to the A9 released with the iPhone 6s.

Read on for our full breakdown of 2017 iPad rumors... The report further cites a post from Macotakara, which claims that the 9.7-inch iPad Pro 2 will still retain the same internal design. The 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch versions will also be upgraded.

According to the reports, the new 10.5-inch iPad Pro is expected to feature slimmer bezels.

As neat and tidy as it would then be to have a non-Pro 12.9-inch model, don't hold your breath-right now, that seems like a Pro-only size.

The reasoning would be easy to explain: the 9.7-inch edition becomes the budget, entry option, to the Pro line, with the larger models becoming the more premium, feature-rich devices to splurge cash on.

Once the device becomes official, it may be hard to find at launch.

Headlining this year's iPad refresh appears to be a completely new 10.5-inch iPad Pro model. The tablet could come with a higher-resolution display and quad microphones. The tech giant might announce updates about its tablet in the next few weeks. We'll have to wait until iOS 11 debuts at WWDC this summer to get the whole story.
